JK3 - I actually got to see the bars and your bike being built and fixed in person when I was at the shop last week. I just sent my head and carburetor to Tom because I have been having issues and just thought why not get the upgrade. Will be bikeless for a couple weeks but it should be worth it in the end.

    Take care guys

Hi everyone, new here on this thread. I have been wanting to purchas tha heist for about 2 months now. I love the way it looks and have seen te bike. Like everyone I want to know how the stock 250 feels on the freeway? Will it get up to 65-70 no problem? I am really thinking as using this as a commuter bike. I am also a begginer rider and I hear this is a great bike to learn on. My main cOncern is that there won't be any Power tO get out of a jam. Thanks

Personally, I ride my Heist on the freeway, but there is always traffic and speeds hover around 60mph. I don't ride on the freeway after dark as many people travel in excess of 80mph, and it's dangerous for a bike that only goes 65-70mph. The bike absolutely "GETS UP AND GOES" off the line though, as does the Dong Fang. I commute 35 miles a day R/T on my bike, and stock I get around 75mpg. with a 2Gal tank. The bike rides great, is super easy to ride, and perfect for a beginner. Welcome to the group!

AniNarine - Welcome to the thread, I've had my Heist since April and have close to 4300 miles on it almost all of that is Freeway/Highway running. to be honest the bike started stock but has morphed to so much more with some of the performance mods that I have done. The Motor is really a 229cc single cylinder, solid and strong.
At stock my Heist with modded pipe would hit at high 60 - 70mph, after the carb 75 - 80mph, then modded head and i have had the heist better than 90mph but she would scream and i added a 16T front sprocket and HD428DID chain. with the new chain she cruises at better than highway speeds and i pass other cars and vehicles running on the NJ turnpike, garden state parkway, and other interstates. now with that being said the bike is light and above 70mph the front feels light she will cruise nice but she is not a speed runner
This is an awesome bike for beginners completely legal in all 50 states, light weight and easy to maneuver and a hell of a lot of fun to ride. There are a bunch of Heist's in CA on the road right now.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask or check out the CCW Tha Rider Facebook Group

Here's an old Video from when i first got the bike running on the NJGSP where most people fly at 65 - 80mph

Thanks gardo. How much would you say you put into your bike to get It where it is now? And I just started following that fb page. Hopefully I can get a deal at the scooter shop up in sac. Maybe atleast a helmet. How does the bike handle while going up hill? I have been wondering that. I just love the look of this bike.

I have tinkered with the bike so much i tend to forget, i have a total of just over 1000 bucks USD over the cost of the bike and that includes all the cosmetic changes I have made with the performance ones.
Up a steep hill you lose some power but not much

Welcome aboard! If you are unable to score a helmet from the shop, here's a link to a DOT approved one that's only 29 bucks. As a side note, my head measured medium according to the chart, and I initially went with the medium... I have since ordered a large because the medium one is too small. I would order one size up from what you measure. The helmet does still produce a little mushroom head look, but it's not as bad as other DOT helmets, and I care more about my noggin than looks. Enjoy the bike!
