Lightend, get a brain! If a new YBR250 is a bargain at 24,000 and 20,000 would be out of this world bulk-buy 'super well connected' buying a bike that is unused but a few years old deal. 2nd hand if someone was trying to get rid of a shabby stolen one quickly could be 5-10,000, then why would anyone ever sell one for 1500? Makes no sense at all.

    One can dream...
Just imagine, we could get about half of the bikes on that web page for the money we spent on a single one of our new YBR 250s

I wonder how many people will fall for this obvious scam... but then.. the mother of all fools is always pregnant...

You also receive SMS saying "please pay at this XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX account"... around the end of the month?

This is the time many people pay rent or send money back home, I'm sure there is quite some stupid falling for that too.

im not stupid but i also dont want to miss out on anything :-)
I tried this a few years back.

They asked me to pay the deposit first before I could view the car.

Hey guys, thanks for the concern !

Unfortunately, China being China, they still didn't change the fuel tank, which was damaged in their shop when they brought the bike in...
That, plus the fact that I'm usually pissed when coming back to China, plus the fatigue from the flights (with fuel pump issue on the 747-400 I took from Paris to HK, which meant spending 3 hours in the plane without moving before taking off, then 11 hours flight and a missed transfer in HK...), it all = to a good ol' yelling at the Honda shop yesterday...
I'm fed up about their "tomorrow, tomorrow" when I've been waiting for this bike for close to 3 months now...

So, to cut the long story short, I'm going to the shop tonight to give them some extra "yali" and fortunately maybe to take the bike home (but I'm not dreaming on it anymore...).

    To be followed...

Have they got all your money or just a deposit? These guys sound like royal asshats. Have you had a chance to take the bike out for a spin to see if there are any other problems with it yet?

Right now, they've got all the money, but I really think it will not be a problem with them. I dealt with them since my first Honda 150cc, and they didn't do any funny business, they are just completely used to the local crowd and customers, which mean a very very very crappy service to Western standard...

Their habit is to never tell clearly the time and delay to consider, because they don't dare (lose face and all...), even though I told them many many times to tell me clearly if it's 2 weeks and not 2 days. It seems they don't know clearly anyway, as I said it's a local shop, with myself being their only foreign customer ever, and they do Chinese-style customer service, because it's the only thing they know, and the only thing that their typical customers ask for.

That being said, their 2 mechanics are good, they know what they're doing.

    Hey Fred,

Sorry to hear about your little mishaps. However you could try to get back the value of the tank which should be 790 Rmb according to taobao, and ride away.

When finally they have the tank you give them back the 790 Rmb and change the tank... sounds fair to me.

    Which colour you went for?

Also sorry to hear about the misfortune. Selfishly, though, it is always good to know that I am not alone in having a BCD (Bad China Day).

Chin up - it could've been worse - your flight could've been on Air China.

    Yeah, I guess.

Marco, I went for the red one, they're the fastest of course...

Anyway, I'm afraid I already hijacked too much this thread (sorry Pete...) to discuss about my purchase, I will post a new one to introduce to you my bike, maybe next week.
Ill also start a thread about the Honda-Sundiro 150cc Shadow I had before, in order to write a review for any potential buyer.
