I figured it out in the end. Most sources says to adjust the valves so you get a loose fit with the feeler gague but I read somewhere else that that is crap and it should be a tight fit so I tightened the valve adjusters a little more than I usually do and the valve noise went away.
Sinnis Max II (QM125-2V), K157FMI engine (technically a K162FMJ now), 115 main jet, 40 pilot jet, cone air filter, 150cc big bore kit, 17 tooth front sprocket, 30mm carburettor, alarm with remote start, HID spotlights, performance CDI.
