I'm confused as my peacock is up position for reserve. Was yours a nov or dec build? Mine is a nov 2010 build. Tuned my friends df today, he has the bigger jets already ( dec build) in his carb and damm it runs perfect now. Touchy on the idle screw and the air mixture screw combinations but once tweaked it was really amazing at how responsive it was. I'll throw in a NGK plug in it now. I won't have time till Monday to put my bigger jets in and scrub my carb. these things laid around a long time at the dealership with gas in it. I really recommend installing a real fuel filter as the one on there is a joke. It only takes a micro sized particle to clog the idle jet as it has a almost microscopic hole in it. even if its partially clogged start times and warm up time will be longer. autozone has a nice selection of chromed and plain ones with a 1/4 inch stem on both sides. It's also nice to be able to see the fuel though the new clear glass on a real filter. You can then spot vapor lock or vac lock from the tank cap. 5 min change out, but I'd bet most are using the Cheap fake factory one that didn't even have a filter in it just made to look it does.

This is the state mine is currently in. I have a lot to do still, like everything. The shift lever and rear brake appear to be bundled with bubble wrap and ties, so i first need to figure how that goes. My manufacture date stamp says December. Hopefully going to warm up here in a couple of days so maybe get her running then.

Oh man!!! I still remember the day I pulled mine off the trailer and opened it up! Had ALL the dudes from the block standing around waiting for it to be opened. I had to ask for help from a couple of them and ALL of the guys showed up. First question was " How much did you pay for that!?", and " I just wanna hear it run.". Well, 30 minutes later they heard a wildcat come to life!
No, really, they did like the way it sounded. Yours looks the same as mine did when it came, with the "crate dust". So, what parts do you have to install, if any? Hope you got a different bar, oil plug and jets just to start. Oh, and Freezer you got yours from SaferWholesale as well?

yea skull, i got it from saferwholesale and they are only 140 miles from me in the same state. I bought the black racing handlebars that you linked from ebay, and 38t sprocket. Did you drill a hole in your handlebars for the notch on the light switch and throttle, or did you just file/cut the notch off? I plan to make a lot of small changes soon, like hoses. I think the carb jet should be ok since the bike has a December manufacture date.
How much oil does the crankcase hold? i dont see the capacity amount listed in the owners manual anywhere.
I already mailed my certificate of origin for saferwholesale to sign. Getting a title in IL shouldn't be a problem. Hopefully we'll hear her run tomorrow after my bro comes by to check it.

Freezerboy the DF uses just a bit over a quart of 10-40 wet clutch oil. check the level of the oil with the dip stick unscrewed in. Yeh...you have the good jets, May still be set way to lean or rich though, they do not set the carb at the factory so you most likley need to fiddle with the Idle screw on side of carb and the air mixture screw on the front side of carb after warm up. Use a small straight blade screw driver Bit to do the air screw as there is no room. Maybe you will get luckey and it will run decent the way it is. Let us know how it goes. Choke up and it will fire right up.

Can go wrong with the canister. Its the perfect size, its steel and really only needs the 2 wire holes installed and then the 2 small mounting holes. The cap stays on super tight, I will add a tiny set screw for saftey then I will then use a small rubber bellows where the 2 wire harnesses come out. I will post the part number of the 2 small corregated flexible Bellows from metro Moulded Parts or correct wire harness socket. I suppose a large sheet metal grommet would work as well. Here is a Picture of what it will look like on the bike. I cant wait to swap mine either, that plastic tank is as cheap as it gets. SOON I will have the time, then add a oil fill chrome cap on top.Fake oil tank replacement Look of Canister_ Mock up only_ forum.jpg
