....going to say something say something....
Setting the record very straight forward to avoid any further confusion and miscommunication, people advising others to obtain a fake and bogus license / registration or encourage license / registration scams are on the same level as the clowns - idiots - morons that come to China and assume they are above the law and operate motor vehicles without the appropriate license and registration. Over and out from my side on this issue as everything should be crystal clear to everyone...

I think TB-Racing was sexually abused as a child and we all should forgive him for his online behaviors.

so you think a agent working to help people get a Chinese license is "illegal" the agent helps you get all the paper work done which we all have done and is a long job to do and the agent arranges a translator to sit next to you when you take the test ?? and yes the translator help you pick the correct answers so what yes the scam is the cost ??? but that's all so MR TB or now called TA you need to read the posting more carefully before you post as to being a clown it take one to know one TA so from one clown to another over and out

Wow ... a little bit of online chatter in MCM ... don't see that often.

I think the point TBR is trying to make is that it is completely inappropriate for foreigners to come into China and flaunt the laws. I've often heard people try to rationalize their inappropriate behavior in two ways:

    1) It is too difficult, or expensive, or impossible to do it legally. And/or;
    2) All the Chinese people do it (which is debatable).

But hey, if that is how you roll, fair enough. Just don't go crying about being treated unfairly when you are jailed, fined and booted out of the country, and prevented from any re-entry for 10 years. You made your bed, you sleep in it.

The "agent" getting the DL (in the above example) isn't really an agent. A genuine agent will help with all the paperwork, locations, etc., to get a proper, legal DL. I think the current market price for a registered agent's fee in Beijing is around 800-1,000 rmb, but that is only for assisting with getting a legal DL. You have to meet all the criteria, write the exam yourself, supply all the legal documents (e.g., proper visa and overseas license), and take the medical yourself. FESCO, the official government-owned agent, is commonly used by professional expats (e.g., executives from multinational corporations) who have an overseas posting in China.

There are several alternate methods to get a DL, with varying degrees of legality. At one extreme, you can pay 250 rmb and get one manufactured for yourself - totally fake, but hey, TIC, right? I have thought about getting a couple of these for my house cats, as a joke. Then pay another 200 rmb for fake plates & documents for your smuggled/stolen bike, and away you go. Your choice.

I also think that the foreigners who have been in China a while, and have lived through several sensationalized media reports of foreigners doing illegal things, advocate other foreigners doing it right. Back in Canada, if another Canadian screws up and gets tossed in the clink, what the fuck do I care - it doesn't directly affect me, at all. But in China, when the media lusts after reports of illegal foreigner behavior, I cringe with each report - I get painted with the same brush simply because I am a foreigner. So, yeah, foreigners flaunting the law in China DOES affect me personally. China is the polar opposite from being a "multicultural society." And because foreigners are simultaneously admired/hated, I'd prefer to keep the "hate" side of things to a minimum.

If you can't get a DL because you don't qualify - don't get a DL. If you absolutely, positively MUST ride a motorcycle in China, just do it ... but don't ask me to to send you any cakes with files in them.

Anyways, good luck with whatever you decide to do.

    Hi Kao Jia Hou

That is the point. The post TA made is rude and not friendly but your post is well done and is not rude so if you cant be politely then dont post ??? and i would never tell someone to get fake DL to pay someone to help to get a "real " DL why not

    Hi Prince666,

I started this thread to learn how to obtain a moto license and ride in China legally. Find out where are the must see scenic routes in South Western China. What are the hazards and pitfalls(every country has them & are different) for locals and visitors alike. Please let NOT turn this thread into something negative and lets all move on. Thank you for you "helpful inputs". The price is high plus the added traveling expanses. If this service is available in border cities to Hong Kong or Macau, it might work. Also why May 8 or 9th as we most likely won't be in Asia until October.

PS: please NO more fake anything! After reports of fake baby formula and even cheap items like soya sauce a few years ago, My GF stopped buying most food products that are made in China.

Correct, spot on! Lets hope the MCM member that fell for the Hainan Island and Southern China DL scams via "agents & websites" has big enough balls to come forward and posts scans of his two over-prized fake China DL.
Both DL's look like they were designed by a drunk and stoned teenager using crayons and some outdated black & white version of photoshop....
Lets face it, it's not my problem and at the end of the day, who cares about some people that just want to learn the hard way, eh?
