Nice gesture on the cross part. I am amazed by how many crosses I see on trips from Yuma to Phoenix, or Yuma to San Diego!
I'll report on the sprocket change for the hack and the Z50 clone in the other forum. Hope it works out at well at the change on the CT70 clone.
26 miles from our cabin to the start of the Dragon. Takes 45 minutes to get there because of some gravel roads, lots of curves, and elevation changes.

I drove over to Knoxville,TN via the Dragon in my Scion IQ the other day to hit Harbor Freight and then to visit the old bike get together at http://www.timewarpvmc.org/Tea_Room.htm. Great collection of older and newer bikes and their riders there.
Next time I go I'm gonna carry the hack in the back of my truck, park around the corner, and then ride up on the bike as if I rode from our cabin.

I used the GPS on my work phone the other night and it showed 47.5 mph as my maximum speed but I didn't have the throttle wide open, will give it another go at the weekend.

I am working on it! I would need to be able to hit about 55 mph and keep it for about 7 or 8 miles to justify getting one...

I wonder how much difference in power there is between the Lifan 110cc and the whatever engine 125cc that Skyteam uses ( I believe Zongshen or Loncin)?

Sky team claim on their website that the 125 will do +65mph, but that was probably under perfect conditions. If I can reach 50 to 55 on my clone I will be happy, most of my finding is around 40MPH, they are meant to be fun bikes after all not racers.

No way will my bike do a real 65 MPH with the stock gearing. Speedometer seems to be about 10% optimistic.

I added a speedometer and GPS app to my new cellphone and have ordered a handlebar mount so I can check the speedometer accuracy on the bike. Also I have one of the mini tachometers and a cylinder head temperature gauge (CHT) which I will install to get some numbers. Don't wanna see 420+ F CHT at wide open throttle.

Might do 65 MPH at red line with the + 2 teeth on the front sprocket. I will be happy with a 55 MPH cruise. Going to 4.00-10 tires will probably correct the optimistic speedometer.

I need a minimum of 55mph sustained for several miles if I was to switch off between bikes to commute to work on. Going to work in the morning, the several mile stretch is posted for 50 MPH with many of my fellow commuters wanting to do at least 70 or 80! Now that the agriculture season is starting up, there are many commuters who work the fields who cross the border heading in the opposite direction and the opposing traffic is one long continuous mass of cars meaning the Indy car hopefuls are riding a few feet from my rear tire because they cannot pass me. Pulling over is not an option because the shoulder is half broken asphalt and desert sand meaning pulling over at speed is dangerous. At least at 55 MPH, I am doing a few over the limit.

Tail gateing by cars is a problem over here too, you always feel they are pushing you to do a few more miles a hour. Sometimes I slow to a crawl and force them to over take. That or they try to squeeze past you without crossing the centre white LINE. Had a fool in a Land rover do this last weekend as I was overtaking a cyclist, he missed me by about 6 inches. 2 minutes down the road I caught up and over took him while he sat in a queue of traffic. They seem oblivious to what they do.

Here in the mountains of Western North Carolina there is little traffic and the local drivers tend to be courteous. A 45 MPH cruise is sufficient.
Not so in Southwest Florida where the winter season traffic is like the Indy 500 drivers that culcune experiences in AZ. Not only can drivers not see their speedometers they must be color blind as they can't see the red light on the stop light.
