Oh FUCK, now I said it loud. I had hard time for one week when motorcycle maniac came back, and I spend time reading about Urals with sidecar. It was in my opinion just perfect for kids and me. I could give them very different experiences, which they would probably remember when they are adults and which could shape a bit what kind of persons they become. I did my best to get rid of the idea of kids, Ural, and me by thinking how stupid it would be to buy one now in this economical situation in Finland and how the mother of kids would kill me, my relatives would kill me, my neighbours would kill me, and everyone in this small village would kill me if I would take my two small girls in "very insecure" sidecar.
I really wonder how they can sell those in UK, that is, does UK have some exceptions in EU emission regulations.

I knew this was made by Shineray, and that, was it in Thailand, they had rebranded version of it, but I though the original design came from France. http://www.mash-motors.fr/moto-mash-...00cc-noir.html
Drooled a lot after that bike, and still do. The markets has become way better than they were a few years ago. China has brough "innovations" in a way of copy catting old designs. This is what I hoped, and it has happened. It has refreshed very boring and sterile bike markets in Europe.

WTF! This could be my next bike very easily. So very cute! I could even forgive the casted wheels instead of spoked wheels, and that front mudguard near the front tyre, which can be dangerous in winter because snow can pack between the mudguard and tyre, which can lead into a locked front wheel in very slippery condition. The mudguard could be removed during winter and I could live with the cast wheels.
I don't need BMW 1200 GS. I want this cute beauty, so I can make some sort of from Poland to Murmansk to Nordkap to Savolax tour

I am totally serious.

The ADV 150 aka Yingang 150 is a good bike, but...they a very seriuos problem with the fixing of the rear sprocket. The sprocket is fixed to wheel with cushion shoe of very bad quality (nr.6). They broke every 5000km...the owners take the ruber of and replace it with reinforced tube (for pressure washer).
But if you will drive it to Russia, you can buy there parts for him, it is known as Partizan 150.
Maybe it is better to buy in Poland an original Shineray for 3500PLN (950$)?

Ah, that is good to know I would be pretty much good regarding parts in Russia with Romet. Thank you also for mentioning that cushion shoe issue. Does not seem to be a biggie to fix with better parts.
At least on the pics Romet have "kaatumaraudat", those damage preventing irons guarding clutch and front brake levers as well as guarding the engine from side and protecting turning lights in case of drop. Also Romet seems to have better bolts, they have that colour which predicts they don't corrode that easily. Romet costs a bit more, but it gives more value too. Besides I like the name Romet, it is almost Romeo, which is positively ironical for that bike.
I do believe that if I buy Romet I can find a dealer who speaks English and understands I need several documents for the bike so that I can register it in Finland, and who preferably sells it for me tax free because EU laws say that one must pay tax of a new vehicle to the country where one is going to import it. So, if the dealer does not sell it for me tax free, that means I have to pay twice the tax of the bike. Once for Poland and once for Finland.
Impoortant documents are a copy of a paper from manufacturer which says that this bike is what EU requires of a new bikes to be. I don't remember the official name of that paper even in Finnish now. It was something like "vaatimustenvastaavuustodistus". Detailed contract of sale is needed too.
But before all that I need to know what Polish laws says about private personnel buying a bike in order to export it away by driving at once, that is, can I register the bike for that in Poland. In Germany I could, but Poland is not Germany.
Edit: Forget to mention I am quite committed to fix my Skyteam, I made a decision I wont begin to hop on to a new bike, even though I would like a lot of the new bike. After I have fixed Skyteam I only need to apply for a Visa to Russia and I can do Murmansk – Nordkap tour. Next year I will do some touring.
2nd edit: It would be interesting to know what Russian police etc. say when they stop me, check papers and ask why you are driving to Murmansk and not to the nearest place where you can go to Finland, and I explain them that there is no such law which says I should cross the border at the nearest place, and henceforth I want to cross the border in the North instead of South, and that requires I go to Murmansk. On the other hand it would not be that interesting if thinking about all the stories of Russian police, but thinking them too much is racist, is it not, and eventually makes me want to stay in Finland alltogether or visit only countries where there is no certain "problems" with the authorities. And as a matter of fact, Russian police should be just cool if I say to them that Murmansk is the norhernmost Hero City, and I want to see it.Last edited by moilami; 09-17-2015 at 01:06 PM.
