Now I understand with a dry weight of only 207kg and a tank range off 400 km bike sounds sweet..
But from the EU price of 16,560.00 I think the end price on the road will be close to 250.000 RMB and with the Honda CRF 1000 on the road here in China at 185.000 with the DCT version just over 200.000 RMB my money is on the DCT Twin."Arguing on the Internet is like running in the Special Olympics, even if you win you're still retarded"

I think Shuben is more on the money price wise, hence my interest. My dealer tells me it will be 150 + + (plates are cheap here).
My understanding is that it will be significantly cheaper because it will be primarily assembled in an ASEAN country (I think he said it was Malaysia but Thailand seems more likely to me).
BUT... I do prefer Japanese products and I do have a particular boner for things Made in Japan.
BUT... relative values are different, the Honda is a relatively cheap bike in most markets and the Kato Is more expensive. Soooo doing my China maths, if the Kato is cheaper here than the Honda (and its a bike of similar lust factor) then that makes it good value (relatively).
Anyway, I just got my baby Honda yesterday (its not even plated yet) and plan to give it some serious work over the next few months. Who knows, it could be all that I need.
I took it into the mountains last night for a gentle shake down and everything seems pretty good. Doing 50km/h on it feels like 120 on a GS or a Multistrada, so I am already winning by getting grins at relatively safe speeds

Ride an ok Chinese bike and get familiar with things, you'll enjoy that just as much as they big end bikes and with a ton on money in your pocket to spend later on
