nice to see you again in here..............yeah I know Shineray is behind the rebirth of this old glorious offroad bike italian brand
but I have to admit I feel a lot relieved knowing that the 300-500-650 series are mostly built in the former Husqvarna factory building near Varese by italian workers and that most of the engine and components come from the old Husqvarna projects and schemes
I was at the EICMA years ago when the first models came out in the Shineray booth with Shineray brand on them..........i recognized immediately the older model from Husqvarna
Told my dealer/mechanic to keep an eye on them and before the next EICMA started I read on Motociclismo magazine that Ampelio Macchi, former engineer for Aprilia, Husqvarna and other brands, had made a joint-venture with Shineray to buy the rights of the SWM brand and to save factory and workers of the old Husqvarna
The rest is recent history
My dealer became the first one to sell SWM in southern Italy and I got my 500 motard on March
The brand is selling well all over Europe and they recently put up a supermoto racing team hiring a German rider (Marc Reiner Schimdt, cause Germany is their best selling area so far) and an italian one (Edgardo Borella)
These guys are winning a lot and if you think that they just have a van and 2 mechanics supporting them, not yet any external sponsor, it's a pretty impressive start
Me, i am enjoying my new beast a lot and since I cannot resist temptation when it comes to tuning, I have asked already SWM commercial offices if they will sell as aftermarket option the exhaust system of the racing model (de-catalyzed complete Arrow exhaust)
