    Actually, Sino-Japanse wars - plural.

There is no need to be sarcastic.

There was a need to be sarcastic. My points were completely lost on you, it seems.
My point was that loving China to some Chinese nationalists means:

    a. You must hate Japan.
    b. You can't even eat Japanese food, even though none of the ingredients in it are from Japan.

I dislike Nazis from WW2. Does it mean that I hate on German and Austrian people now? NO!
Do I refuse to drink some of the best beer in the world? F**k NO!

I've had some healthy debates with locals about "Japanes aggression" and usually share some personal history. First, telling them my grandfathers submarine sunk 27,983 tons of Japanese shipping during WWII, and then about the 3 family members we lost in the Pacific, one during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Followed by enlightening them to the fact that the USA dropped 2 nukes on Japan in 1945 and ended WWII. Had my family and country not made these sacrifices and decisions, China would still be Japans bitch. Then I ask them if they have ever heard of the concept that the USA and China were allies against Japan and get nothing but blank stares. I've told them there's no reason to harbour resentment, as that was the past and things have changed. Enjoy the Japanese of today with their lovely cars, electronics, and porn.

Every country needs its boogeymen to rally up the masses. America has gone from the USSR to Al Qaida. China likes to stir up emotions with patriotic calls agains Japan.

We should be happy the little shit doesn't like sushi, as the world doesn't have enough fish left for 1.6 billion people to start consuming it like the Japanese.

    Cheers!

260 is not much. I wonder what it would cost them to buy a similar house nearby.

I felt that sarcasm was directed on my mentioning of the bloody wars with disproportionately large number of civilian casualties. But if it refers to the story of sushi, then I agree with your attitude.

About the beer: Czech beers are better.

    Kozel? Hit me!

    Staropramen? Hit me twice!

Gambrinus? Hit me all day long!

You have to remember that the kid in this story is only 14. He is actually likeable and very intelligent. What's scary is how he is being manipulated by adults.

Oh, by the way I prefer Belgian beer to Czech and German beer. But it's a close-run thing.

Me wonders if you know this boy because i know many like him/her.That crap with the Phillipines a few months ago also brought out the best in the Chinese.

Hearing "we will blow the Phillipines off the map" by charming 16 year olds was just another nail in the coffin for me living in China.
