Max speed of JH600 is 150km/h from my GPS
Max speed of JH600B is 120km/h from speedometer
I think it is planty fast for China roads. When I tour in developed countries, my speed usually is 140-180km/h.
How fast can a CJ750 go?

realistically 32 hp=120 km(with the very real possiblity of blowing the motor)
=60-70 cruising speed is common
24 hp= 80 km
=60-65 cruising

Jim I've never ridden a JH600, so I can't be so sure how well it runs. I have ridden plenty of big bore singles such as the lovable old KLR 650, which has similar (claimed) power to the Jialing and is probably around the same weight at around 170KG dry or probably 200KG wet.
You really don't need to leap to the defence of a cruiser type of bike, a Chang or even with a BMW engine. It is heavy, slow and has a fairly low top speed (due mainly to the gearbox ratio). (My humble 150cc bike will beat a regular Chang or equal it on nearly every type of road (I have ridden a couple)). It is however a lovely retro cruiser bike with tonnes of torque, there's nothing wrong with that.

Fingers, just get yourself a nice two wheeler. When you are in the mood, go for a cruise on the Chang, when you are in the mood beat the kiddies on the mopeds with your two wheeler.

Got 1 4 U
Photo of my new (300 km 1st oil change) JH600 in front of my apartment here on the East side of Guifeng Mountain, Xinhui, Jiangmen, Guangdong. Replaced the HUGE original muffler with a local Mr. Motorcycle straight-through glass pack & replaced the stock horn with air horns. Now really LOUD
Is there any need to re-tune when replacing the 10 kg muffler with a less restrictive one?

Bob,
That's the first one that I've seen that wasn't red. I think it looks better in black. Keep us posted on your experiences with the bike. Do you plan to add any touring cases?
